Self publishing

Yesterday I attended an amazing writing workshop! (some of the author works above) It was only $40 from 9-3pm and included a healthy vegetarian lunch! It was interesting to me to see how many people in the workshop were also visual artists like myself. I have been writing several books at once but have not completed anything yet, sound familiar?! The workshop defiantly gave me a push and encouragement!

I thought I would share some information about River Haven Books in case you want to self publish or learn more about finding an agent. Their website has lots of information to get you started!

About Riverhaven Books

Riverhaven is setting out to redefine publishing. While we are not conventional, in that our authors pay for our services, we are also not a vanity press; not every work meets the standards of Riverhaven Books, and only those that do are invited to have the Riverhaven imprint. Because we are a small and newer company, writers maintain control over the number of books printed and are responsible for that payment. In turn, Riverhaven does not take any of the profits from the sale of those books, and all books are available through our online store, as well as Kindle and Amazon should the author choose. It's a mutually beneficial relationship. And we look forward to working with you. Hands-on is the philosophy of Riverhaven.  Our attention to detail, while maintaining affordability, is what sets us apart.

Since our inception in August of 2010, Riverhaven has published over thirty books - everything from light romance to political thrillers and suspense to non-fiction and memoir to children's books and collections of short stories, essays, flash fiction, and poetry.
About the owner:

"I live a well-rounded life doing what I love. I spend time with my family, teach literature and writing, and get to read fantastic books and interact with wonderful authors. I look forward to watching Riverhaven Books continue to grow." ~Stephanie
